Pleasanton Homes For Sale and Pleasanton Neighborhoods

This place truly has it all! Pleasanton has a charming downtown Main Street, complete with gourmet dining, antique and boutique shopping. There is also a large mall and many grocery, dining and entertainment options within a short drive. An IMAX theatre, a brand new Target Greatland, the Paragon Outlets, and the Livermore wine country are all just a couple exits down. The school system is among the top in the state! The 580/680 interchange and two BART stations are close by for easy commuting to San Francisco or the Silicon Valley. Lets go over a few of the fabulous neighborhoods that Pleasanton has to offer.

Castlewood is nestled in the hills of the west side of Pleasanton. This luxury development is built around the Castlewood Country Club, a private golf course where Phoebe Hearst once made her home in the 1920’s. Mostly wealthy San Franciscans looking for a summer retreat built the homes here in the 60’s and the 70’s. It is a country location, and has its own water supply! This development affords beautiful valley views, while being just minutes from downtown Pleasanton, and just south of the 580/680 interchange.

Immediately surrounding Main Street in Downtown Pleasanton are much sought after homes that were built closer to Pleasanton’s beginnings. Some even have historical significance. This area is full of individual and beautifully maintained and landscaped homes, within walking distance of Downtown. Pride of ownership is evident when passing through these streets. This neighborhood is very community oriented with a weekly farmers market, and frequent street fairs.

On the southeastern edge of Pleasanton is Ruby Hill, a private gated community of custom-built homes by Signature Properties. Built in the mid to late 1990’s this development is built around a Jack Nicklaus designed golf course and country club. Many of the homes view the gently rolling hills of the famed Livermore Wine Country and the Tri Valley.

Foothill Farms is a lovely modest area in western Pleasanton along Foothill Blvd that was built in the late 1960’s. Many of these homes offer beautiful views of Pleasanton Ridge. This neighborhood is very family friendly with access to Oakhill Park which has a playground and walking paths. Families with high school age children will enjoy having Foothill High, a top rated Pleasanton school, within walking distance in this development.

Pleasanton Valley, also known as Birdland, so named because the street names are common types of birds. These modest and well maintained homes were built from the mid 60’s to the mid 70’s, and are located in the heart of Pleasanton. This is a very family friendly development due to the proximity to highly rated schools, and the Pleasanton Sports and Recreation Park, making it appealing to families with children in sports, or for those that enjoy an active lifestyle.

So whether you are looking for a home in an exclusive gated community or a more modest family friendly neighborhood, Pleasanton can likely satisfy your criteria. Call or email us to get your search started. Looking for something in particular? Chances are excellent we can help you find it in Pleasanton!
