The State of California is working to soften the financial impact of COVID-19 on residents who are struggling to pay their mortgage and bills new guidance to accommodate borrowers who are affected by COVID-19 and cannot make timely payments. These actions include:
- 90-day postponement of foreclosures;
- 90-or-more day grace period for late mortgage payments that includes waiving late fees, online payment fees, and reporting to credit agencies;
- No new foreclosures for 60 days
- No credit score changes for accessing relief
